35 Years with Hoffmann Propeller

A Portrait of Andrea Huber

What started as a temporary role became a defining constant within the company: for 35 years, Andrea Huber, Head of Sales, has been part of Hoffmann Propeller and has actively helped shape the company’s development through a wide range of roles.

“What was meant to be temporary has lasted until today.”

When Andrea joined Hoffmann Propeller in the early 1990s, her plan was actually a different one. After training as a medical assistant and spending time in the United States as an au pair and travelling, she was initially looking for a temporary position. Through an acquaintance, she came across an opportunity at Hoffmann.

“What was meant to be temporary has lasted until today,” she says with a smile.

What followed has been an extraordinary career path: from starting out in export and shipping to working in technical documentation, supporting flight tests, leading the workshop, taking on responsibilities in purchasing and quality management, and eventually becoming Head of Sales.

Responsibility across the entire value chain

Today, Andrea’s role as Head of Sales covers a broad range of responsibilities: from order processing, technical consulting and service support to workshop planning and maintaining customer records. Her work also includes complaint handling, documentation review and pricing calculations.

Together with her team in sales, work preparation and export, she helps ensure that customers around the world receive reliable support.

“I’m in close contact with our key customers and service stations. The topics range from quotes for new propellers to overhauls of existing propeller systems.”

Variety as a source of motivation

What Andrea values most about her work is its variety:

“There is never a dull moment. You can get involved in many different areas and support wherever needed — that makes it exciting.”

For Andrea, the changing demands of the role are a welcome challenge. At the same time, aviation itself brings a very specific framework:

“The regulations are demanding and sometimes quite complex. But that is exactly what makes it interesting.”

That is why, alongside team spirit and the ability to work independently, a strong sense of responsibility and a precise way of working are essential qualities in her job.

A passion for aviation

Over the years, Andrea has not only built deep expertise, but also developed a strong connection to the industry:

“You grow into it and develop what I would call the ‘aviation gene’. The product is fascinating, the community is very active, and over time you really get to know the field well.”

At the same time, she adds:

“In this industry, you never really stop learning — you continue to gain new insights all the time.”

Team spirit as a key success factor

For Andrea, one of the most important aspects of her work is the team:

“We have a great team. Even when there are differences, we address them openly and look for solutions together. Over the past few years, we have really grown closer.”

And her colleagues value Andrea just as much — especially for her experience, her reliability and her broad knowledge of the business.

“Whether it’s quality management, development or sales — you can always ask Andrea,” says one long-standing colleague.

Heintje Wyczisk, one of Hoffmann Propeller’s two Managing Directors, who, on behalf of the company, presented Andrea with a selection of anniversary gifts to mark the occasion, describes her as “a true pillar of our company — with her wealth of experience, her strong sense of responsibility and her exceptional commitment, she helps ensure every day that so many things run reliably here at Hoffmann.”

Change and new momentum

From Andrea’s perspective, the entry of the new investor, Rosen Swiss Holding AG, at the end of 2024 has already brought visible change to Hoffmann Propeller:

“There is investment again — in systems, in the technical department and in digitalisation. You can clearly feel the difference.”

New IT systems, greater development capacity and the digitalisation of documentation are making day-to-day work easier and creating an essential foundation for future growth.

Looking ahead: a new site as a milestone

For Andrea, one particularly important step for the future is the company’s planned new site:

“If we secure a site and can begin construction of a new building, that will be a huge milestone. Having more space will also significantly support our other development steps.”

A vision for the years ahead

Andrea has a clear vision for the future: to further strengthen sales, work together with existing and new customers on innovative products, and expand certifications.

“After years of change, we want to become clearly visible again as a strong competitor and bring fresh momentum to the market.”

35 years of commitment — and no sign of routine

After 35 years with Hoffmann Propeller, one thing has remained unchanged for Andrea:

“I simply enjoy what I do.”

And that is something you can feel. The combination of experience, passion and responsibility makes Andrea a defining personality within Hoffmann Propeller. We wish her many more years of enjoyment in her work and look forward to having her continue to support the Hoffmann Propeller team with her experience and energy.
